CERAMICSPEED - OSPW AERO ALPHA DERAILLEUR CAGE - SHIMANO 9200 / 8100
Pickup currently unavailable at 301 Queen St
Description
The CeramicSpeed OSPW Aero ALPHA system for Shimano 9250/8150 derailleurs updates the fastest proven aero derailleur cage to include our patent pending ADR bearing protection and quiet performing ALPHA disc with composite tooth profile pulleys. Furthermore, a speed defying pinstripe graphic has been added for a splash of visual motion.
The OSPW Aero ALPHA cages have been updated to accommodate the ADR equipped ALPHA disc pulleys. It is not possible to add these pulleys to a previous gereration OSPW Aero cage.
The design of the OSPW Aero refines aerodynamics by focusing on frontal area impact, as well as smoothing and controlling the trailing wind. With podiums in World Tour stages and the Men's and Women's IM World Championships in St. George to its name, the OSPW Aero has demonstrated its impact at the highest level of racing. Wind tunnel testing shows that the OSPW Aero locally reduces drag by 40% on average and at some points up to 60% compared to a stock derailleur. For all the science, data, and info about testing, read the full white paper here.
- Reduces aerodynamic drag on the rear derailleur by up to 60%
- Reduces friction 35-40% over stock pulley configuration
- Structural aerodynamic cage design
- Pulleys, cages, and bearings all produced and assembled by hand in Denmark
- ALPHA Disc pulleys with composite teeth for quiet performance and ADR bearing protection
"The CeramicSpeed OSPW has class leading aerodynamics for its size. Given that this only represents about 1% of the total system drag, we knew that we had a challenge on our hands particularly as the rear derailleur cage sits on the most complicated area of flow on the bike, and also given the position and angle changes. This is one of the most complex areas of the bike to develop"
- Simon Smart, founder of Drag2Zero
Please note while there are visual similarities in the 9100 Series OSPW and 9200 Series OSPW, the spring tension settings, rotation stop tower placement, and mounting pin depth are slightly repositioned and as such the systems are not cross compatible.
The Story
